Human Resources Business Partner

Accountability/Position Summary
Accountable for partnering with the Network Services and Information Services Business Units to develop and meet their business objectives by delivering on HR strategies, solutions and services.
Key Responsibilities
• As an effective change agent build a collaborative partnership between business unit leaders and central HR
• Deliver a wide range of HR consultative services to business unit Managers ensuring the HR Director of the various business units is made aware of specific situations.
• Liaise with the hiring Manager and the Recruiting team in order to clearly understand and fulfill hiring managers’ needs, through the acquisition of high caliber talent inclusive of diversity organizations/groups, thereby contributing to the organizational effectiveness and productivity
• Provide consultative services to business unit Managers in their day-to-day activities ensuring compliance with all appropriate employment, collective agreements and human rights legislation.
• Educate and coach employees and managers on the interpretation and application of various corporate policies and procedures.
• Assist Labour Relations with employees and labour relations issues and deliver training when required.
• Participate in various business units operations meetings to keep abreast of recurring problems/conflicts/changing needs/ successes of the organization and provide feedback to central HR and management
Specific Functional/Technical Knowledge and Skills
• Current knowledge of employment legislation
• MS Office Suite experience (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Knowledge of SAP

• Exceptional Customer Service orientation, meets customer’s expectation, establishes and maintains strong relationships with business partners and HR and constantly works at improving service
• Ability to negotiate and settle issues in a cooperative manner

• Ability to facilitate sessions is a definite asset

• Excellent communication (written, verbal and presentation skills), is a must
• Ability to develop strong relationship with senior management
• Knowledge of the telecommunication industry a definite asset
• Superior time management and multi-task organizational skills
• Strong team work skills and at the same time being able to work autonomously
• Bilingual (English + French), both written and oral is an asset
Education & Certification
• Post secondary education, college or university with a focus on HR Management program or CHRP designation
• Minimum 6-8 years as a generalist in a fast-paced mid-to large size organization
Experience
• Employee and Labour Relations background is a requirement
• Experience in the telecom industry a definite asset
