Systems Analyst

Position Description:
Summary: Work with IT Manager in Applications Development, Systems Integration or Billing Operations to provide and maintain highly specialized information technology solutions. Work independently and collectively in the evaluation and design of new services as well as support current applications and systems. Provide technical leadership to programmers. Position may include supervisory responsibility. Manage projects and represent the IT department in planning sessions with other departments within the company.
Manage projects and participate in planning and requirements gathering sessions as a representative of IT department to analyze, document, and obtain approval on user requirements.
Prioritize tasks and assign trouble tickets to programmers and monitor to insure timely and accurate completion.
Provide technical assistance and leadership to the programmers and other systems analyst. This is demonstrated through proactive mentoring, structured training, and professional development for yourself and programmers.
Provide highly specialized management in the design and implementation of new tools and technological solutions along with assisting manager with the development and enforcement of software life cycle studies and standards.
Qualifications Required:
Education/Experience Required: BA degree in Information systems, Computer Science or equivalent plus several years of experience in programming, system analysis and design. Java, J2EE, XML and SQL experience preferred. Working knowledge of system development life cycle methodologies and UNIX/Windows operating systems expected. Excellent oral and written communication skills required. Background must demonstrate the ability to operate effectively within a complex, dynamic environment.
Physical Requirements: Must be able to sit for long periods and use computer keyboard and/or mouse while viewing computer screen. Must be willing to work a flexible schedule shared by other department members.
