Business Intelligence Administrator

Position Description:
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES: Work in the IT Infrastructure department to architect cutting edge data warehouse business intelligence solutions. Perform data warehouse design and development functions to include requirements gathering, data modeling and data mart design, implementation and documentation. Attend project meetings to gather data mining and reporting requirements, translate those requirements into specifications for Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) coding. Develop ETL code using approved software tools such as Business Objects Data Integrator. Use SQL skills to write and assist others with warehouse queries. In addition, this position requires the candidate to provide upper-tier functions including troubleshooting, performance tuning, upgrading and systems management in production and test environments.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Develop extensive knowledge of Cellular South business processes and technical environment. This includes all environments, software tools, business policies, management utilities and procedures. Develop detailed understanding of company database and data warehouse designs.
2. Attend project meetings and work with others to gather and analyze requirements for data mining and reporting. Design and implement database table structures to meet these requirements.
3. Develop processes to extract data from source systems and develop code to transform and load data into required warehouse formats. Mentor other team members to enhance their ability to perform these functions.
4. Develop and maintain online documentation of warehouse design, data flows, workflows and other processes and diagrams.
5. Perform the installation, configuration and upgrade of business intelligence software.
6. Serve as interface with other IT personnel, data analysts from other departments and vendors to facilitate problem solving and provide quality systems through database design, tuning, troubleshooting, and scrubbing of system data.
7. Perform additional duties as assigned by manager.
Qualifications Required:
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Baccalaureate degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or equivalent preferred. Minimum 3 years experience in Information Technology including business intelligence administration experience preferred. Structured Query Language (SQL) experience required, Oracle SQL and PL/SQL preferred. Experience using business intelligence software for data mining and ETL strongly desired, with experience using Business Objects software preferred. Excellent oral and written communication skills are required. Experience working with various business applications such as Oracle Enterprise Business Suite preferred. Background must demonstrate the ability to operate effectively within a complex, dynamic environment.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS: Must be able to sit for long periods and use computer keyboard and/or mouse while viewing computer screen. Must be willing to work flexible schedule, which will include some nights and weekends.
