Performance Coach

Accountability/Position Summary
This influential role is responsible to implement & execute a coaching methodology by identifying opportunities and working collaboratively with Operational Managers to increase the overall level of performance and to sustain process improvements (Cornerstone implementations) within the team. Performance Coaches identify these employees through requests presented by managers, performance reports and a variety of other means. They perform a key ‘go to’ role for existing and new staff and are accountable for maintaining performance reports, providing frequent and regular 1:1 coaching & support and reporting on outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
• Work jointly with Operational Managers, implement & execute a coaching methodology through validation & prioritization of performance gaps in new & existing employees.
• Provide input to the Operational Manager, to ensure effective Individual Performance Plans are established for all employees that address key job-based learning requirements and/or future development needs.
• Monitor performance, providing coaching support and feedback in a frequent & timely manner. Track outcomes and plans for reporting & development purposes.
• Keep abreast of any and all process updates and changes and incorporate these into coaching plans to ensure that changes are embedded & sustained.
• Act as key “go to” resource/SME within the team by keeping current with realities & expectations of those that are coached.
• Provide regular reports to Operational Managers on individual/team performance and maintain Skills Matrices.
• Identify process gaps and provide recommendations to improve.
Specific Functional/Technical Knowledge and Skills
• Certified Training Practitioner (CTDP) by the Canadian Society for Training & Development (CSTD)
Other Skills/Competencies/Attributes
• Experience working within the business unit – having a deep knowledge of basic processes and an understanding of the end to end process within ESD
• Experience working in a senior/leader type role (informal or formal)
• Comprehensive knowledge of the business unit
• Strong customer focus
• Ability to influence outcomes
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple tasks
